On the week of October 5, Correctional Officers from across the country paid visits to Liberal MPs. They delivered a simple and clear message: We want a good contract.
CXs visited Ginette Petitpas Taylor in Atlantic, Marie-Claude Bibeau in Quebec, Kevin Lamoureux in the Prairies, Mark Gerretsen in Ontario, and finally, Harjit Sajjana and Carla Qualtrough in the Pacific region.
On Friday the 11, they sent a final message to the President of Treasury Board, Jean-Yves Duclos: “We’ve visited many of your colleagues this past week, delivering a simple and clear message: Correctional Officers want a good contract which reflects our difficult job. This message concerns you in particular. Give the necessary mandate to the negotiator.”
