Negotiations

Moving forward!

February 21 will mark the start of the 2023 negotiations to renew our collective agreement. Our bargaining proposal, the result of consultations held in all locals in the fall, was adopted by UCCO-SACC-CSN members during a tour of general meetings held last November and December. On December 14, this package of demands was presented to Correctional Service Canada and Treasury Board, who also sent us their respective demands.

Stay tuned! More information will follow after the first bargaining meeting, on February 21.

Reference documents

On December 14, we shared our collective and global agreement demands with the employer. Attached you will find our union’s demands, as well as the demands submitted to us by the employer: the Department (CSC), for our global agreement, and the Treasury Board, for our collective agreement. You will notice, upon reviewing the employer’s demands, that for some of these demands—especially in the collective agreement—the employer has not submitted specific language but, instead, a placeholder in order to have discussions on certain articles. Although this is not an abnormal practice for the employer, we would like to assure our members that when, at the negotiation table, we receive information that clarifies the employer’s position, that information will be shared with you. What is most important at this point is that we stay focused on our demands, rally behind them, and show the employer that we will achieve them together because we are Proud, United, and Strong.
