Negotiation update – October 2024

During our latest negotiation session, held in Ottawa from October 22 to 24, 2024, UCCO-SACC-CSN’s bargaining committee worked diligently to further our objective of concluding a collective agreement respecting correctional officers, our difficult working conditions and the unique role we fulfill within the Federal Public Service. Although the employer proposed a new allowance, it failed to modify its insulting initial monetary proposal modelled on the bureaucratic Public Service settlement pattern and maintained its regressive demands relative to our schedules.

We are galvanized by the membership’s enthusiastic support for our legitimate demands throughout this week’s bargaining session. The key to achieving our collective goals is to maintain your exemplary Correctional Officer unity as we pursue all avenues to achieve the rightful recognition and compensation we deserve within the Public Safety community.
