On Sunday November 26, 2017, members of the National UCCO-SACC-CSN bargaining and mobilization teams will commence regional executive meetings during which all details of the tentative agreements struck with Treasury Board on November 16, 2017 and with CSC on November 21, 2017 will be explained.
Local General Assemblies will begin on November 27, 2017 in the Atlantic Region and be completed in Pacific Region on December 15, 2017. As per its usual practice, the Union will provide a printed copy of the proposed changes to the Collective and Global agreements to all members at the General Assemblies. A member of the bargaining committee will be on hand at these Assemblies to present and answer all questions that members may have.
In the meantime, the following is a summary of the main changes:
– Retroactive pay increases of:
- 1.25% effective June 1, 2014
- 1.25% effective June 1, 2015
- 2.3% market adjustment effective June 1, 2016
- Roll in of Correctional Officer Allowance into salary effective June 1, 2016
- 1.25% effective June 1, 2016
- 1.25% effective June 1, 2017
– Expiry date : May 31, 2018
– All sick leave provisions remain status quo
– Adjustments and improvements were also made on the following:
- Discipline ;
- Notice period for shift change;
- Leave provisions: Marriage/Annual, Bereavement, Family Related;
- Allowances;
- CXIIIs in our bargaining unit;
- Overtime Meal Allowance.
– In the context of the negotiation, agreements were also reached on:
- All discipline related to participation in the August 11 and 15, 2017 mobilization events;
- Cluster agreements;
- Injury on duty leave.
The National Executive stresses the importance of your attendance and vote at the Local General Assemblies for ratification of the Global and Collective Agreements. Members who are unable to attend their Local Assembly may attend another local’s meeting. Please contact a member of your Local Executive for dates and times of your General Assembly or to arrange for your participation at another Local General Assembly.
