Another Historic Agreement that Recognizes our unique work in the Public Service

On February 20, 2018, your bargaining Committee, along with representatives from the Treasury Board and Correctional Services bargaining teams, formally signed the Collective agreement for implementation. The employer now has 120 days to implement the agreement (or sooner) as per article 51.03.

Taking the timeline into account, we asked Treasury Board representatives about how retroactivity will be paid and at what point will we see adjustments to our pay that are reflective of the increases we negotiated. Treasury Board could not confirm anything at this point, but committed to updating us as soon as possible as to the status of the implementation.

Over the next few months, we will be working with CSC to ensure implementation of new language changes as it pertains to the Correctional Service of Canada. Through your regional executive committees, which includes all local presidents, we will provide updates on the implementation progress.

Once again, thank you for your patience and support through yet another challenging negotiation. This support has led us to an excellent settlement that solidifies Correctional Officers as different within the Federal Public Service!
