Our Union's Sixth National General Assembly has now concluded.
A lot of work has been done this week covering a wide range of topics. Delegates have approved constitutional amendments and given their support to a budget that will allow the Union to effectively carry out its mandate for the next 3 years.
Delegates are fully aware of the current state of negotiations and the challenges that we face in negotiating with the Trudeau government. Delegates reaffirmed our prior commitment to defend our sick leave system by any means possible.
Now more than ever, the Union needs the membership to mobilize and support our mandate, support our contract negotiators and defend our earned rights. Make your voice heard loud and clear by attending our mobilization events - we need your support.
It was a pleasure to recognize so many new Honorary Members of our Union. Their dedication and commitment to the Union, and its members was truly inspiring for all who were in attendance at the Assembly.
We thank and recognize the retiring members of our National Executive, Kevin Grabowsky and Doug White. Both Kevin and Doug worked many, many long hours on behalf of the Union and its members. You will be truly missed. We wish both of you a wonderful retirement
We welcome the new members of our National and Regional Executives and we call upon the membership to support them as they continue to pursue our mandate.
We wish all delegates, guests, visitors, observers and staff safe travels home to their families. A special thank you to the CSN staff who put in many countless hours of work to make our Assembly happen. We could have not done it without you. Merci Beaucoup!!
Please continue to follow your Union via our website, and our social media outlets @UCCOSAACWeb, Facebook and You Tube.

The National Executive talked about the current state of our contract negotiations and the delegates renewed their original mandate to defend our sick leave system by any means necessary. The mobilization committee presented it's activity report for the last 3 years. An interesting debate about our mobilization strategies followed the presentation.
